Accommodations for Students
Housing accommodations are provided to LSI students through an independent company called Sweet Home California (SHCA). This company provides Dormitory and Homestay facilities located close to the various school campuses. International Student Services will carefully match the student's desires and needs with the available accommodations.
SHCA has dormitories that are conveniently located near all 4 schools. There are both private and shared rooms available, depending on location, and all dormitories have internet access available to students. Meals are not included.
The Homestay experience is a unique accommodation choice for students because it welcomes them into an American home. Students who choose to live with a homestay family are looking for a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment in which they can be introduced to American customs, traditions, and family lifestyle. The home allows them to practice their English on a daily basis and enjoy homemade meals in a familiar setting. Homestay families typically plan special events such as family outings and guided tours of the city for the student. The homestay program carefully matches students with suitable families. We often see how friendships, which last a lifetime, are formed.

The TOEFL iBT® class has been a big help to me! It has helped me improve my English writing, reading, and speaking. It has also helped me understand language in general and it has been very practical and easy to study in this course. Professor David is a big help in this class. He makes it easy to learn and understand language. He also gives good examples and explanations of the topics. The professor answers all my questions about grammar and even explains it with examples from daily life. This class has definitely helped me a lot in my journey to learn English. It also helps me with my goal to write at a college level. This will help me on my way to university.
